CORG1 Championship Rules

The complete guide to the season-long title fight — rounds, points, eligibility, and purse.

The Championship

The CORG1 Championship combines results from five premier corgi races across the United States into one season-long title fight.

Competitors earn points by finishing on the podium. At the end of the season, the competitor with the highest point total is crowned the CORG1 Champion.

Championship Rounds

CORG1 Racing reserves the right to modify the championship schedule if events are canceled, postponed, or otherwise unavailable.

Points System

Only podium finishers earn championship points.

Competitors finishing 4th place or below do not earn championship points.

The competitor with the most points at the conclusion of the season is crowned CORG1 Champion.

Championship Purse

At the conclusion of the season:

Prize amounts may be adjusted in future seasons.

Eligibility

The CORG1 Championship is open exclusively to purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Cardigan Welsh Corgis.

Mixed-breed dogs and corgi mixes are not eligible to earn CORG1 Championship points or prize money.

Championship points belong to the dog and remain with that dog throughout the season.

Each dog may earn points at any official CORG1 Championship round in which it competes.

CORG1 Racing reserves the right to verify breed eligibility if questions arise regarding championship standings, points, or prize distribution.

Tie Breakers

If competitors finish the season tied on points:

  1. Most race victories
  2. Most second-place finishes
  3. Most third-place finishes
  4. Best finish in the most recent championship round

If competitors remain tied after all tie breakers, the championship position will be shared.

Results

Championship standings are updated following each round using official race results whenever available.

CORG1 Racing reserves the right to correct standings if errors are discovered.
